In recent years, Russian cinema has overwhelmed the international film scene. But despite of its regular presence in the European film festivals, contemporary Russian cinema is not reaching our screens enough. Russian Turn Kino sessions propose to explore rich and uncompromising world of independent Russian cinema with its paradoxes and contradictions. The first series of three piercing films will shed light on the human condition and into the struggle of people that choose to follow individual heart athwart their family, multi-ethnic community or the state. Come watch the films, listen to the after-talks by Russian film specialists and/or filmmakers and understand the country we seem unable to wrap our heads around!
