Romano Drom is one of the most renowned Vlach Roma groups of Central Europe. Founded in 1998, the group has performed some 500 concerts in some thirty countries. Its seven albums reflect this constant desire to popularise local folklore whilst mixing it with other cultures, as it makes its own way in the vast melting pot of contemporary world music. Romano Drom’s repertoire is at times melancholy and moving, at times energetic and lively, with updated traditional melodies and their own compositions, combined with modern scores, a style which has been rewarded with twenty years of uninterrupted success! An anniversary that they will be celebrating at the Centre for Fine Arts, where the group will kick off an anniversary tour to promote their new album in the company of a trio of dancers with infectious energy!
