‘Rebirth Day 2016’

21 Dec.'16
- 18:08

PEACE UNITY LOVE. HAVING FUN!

Every year artist Michelangelo Pistoletto makes his case for the rebirth of society. On ‘Rebirth Day’ events and performances inspired by Pistoletto’s symbol of the Third Paradise, a reworking of the mathematical symbol for infinity formed by three circles, are organised all over the world. On the one hand there is nature, which man is a product of, on the other hand there is an artificial paradise, developed by human intelligence. These two contrasting circles  are threatening each other with extinction. Their fusion forms a third, central ‘circle’, in which the human and natural intelligence are harmoniously reconciled.

This year BOZAR has invited along Rival Capone, an established name on the Belgian hip hop scene. As the occasional ‘conductor’ he in turn invited four artists who, in the space of 18 minutes, will perform in the three circles of the symbol. Singer and cellist Joelle Strauss will be in the first circle. In the second circle beatboxer Serdi Alici will rock the space with his furious timbres and overblown sounds. Meanwhile, in the third circle, talented breakdancer BBOY FEN-X shows us his best moves, including the headspin, coupole and flare, and graffiti artist DEMA puts the public’s impressions down on paper.

Take part on 21 December at 18.08 and turn the Centre for Fine Arts into the Third Paradise for 18 minutes.

In collaboration with the Tutti Frutti language school for children between 3 and 11 years old.
