‘A reason to talk’

Sachli Gholamalizad transforms a tale of migration into a generational conflict, both recognizable and emotional. The young actress delves into her family history and, in the process, opens up layer after layer of the lives of her mother and grandmother in Iran. Through diary fragments, films, passages from novels and soundscapes she captures almost inexpressible emotions in an impressive performance.
