‘RAZZIA - NABIL AYOUCH (Avant-première)’

7 Feb.'18
- 20:00

IN THE PRESENCE OF THE DIRECTOR AND OF MARYAM TOUZANI (ACTRESS)

Between past and present, in Morocco. Five people connected without knowing it: Abdallah, Salima, Joe, Hakim and Inès.  Different faces, different struggles, but the same breath. And a city, Casablanca, like a fragment of reality, like the myth of a film made entirely in the Hollywood studios, again steps into the spotlight.

Nabil Ayouch is a French-Moroccan director. Born in Paris he lives and works in Casablanca. In 1997 he made his first feature film,   "Mektoub", that met with great success in Morocco and was the first film to represent Morocco at the Oscars. He made his second film in 2000, "Ali Zaoua prince de la rue". Encouraged by his success, he went on to make "Une minute de soleil en moins", in 2003. The director returned to the cinema four years later with "Whatever Lola Wants". This was followed by a documentary, "My Land", in which exiled Palestinians speak of being expelled from their own villages when the State of Israel was founded in 1948. Nabil Ayouch again represented Morocco at the Oscars with "Les Chevaux de Dieu" in 2012. A film that deals with the sadly topical subject of the religious radicalization of a young Moroccan and its impact on his family. He has since made his seventh feature film, "Much Loved", about the prostitutes of Marrakech.
