‘RAUMLABOR’

Lecture by Jan Liesegang

Founded in the 1990s by architects Markus Bader, Jan Liesegang, Christof Mayer and Andrea Hofmann, the Berlin collective raumlabor designs projects that benefit society and respect the quality of life. At the intersection of architecture and town planning, the basis for all their work is an analysis of the environment and the needs of its users.  To this end, raumlabor brings together users and interdisciplinary designers who study the site and actively experiment.

Since 2017, the practice has also worked in Belgium. For the 2018 Bruges Triennial | Liquid City – Vloeibare Stad, they are working on a project in the historic city centre as a creative meeting place for production by and for young people. Thanks to their cooperation with the Bruges Triennial, A+ Architecture in Belgium and BOZAR are pleased to be welcoming Jan Liesegang for an exceptional lecture to present his participative vision of architecture as championed by raumlabor.
