‘Rabin, the Last Day - Amos Gitai’

Tel Aviv, 4 November 1995. Yitzhak Rabin, the Israeli Prime Minister, Nobel Peace Prize winner and the man behind the Oslo Accords, was assassinated after making a long speech about reconciliation. His murderer was a religious extreme right Jewish student. Twenty years on, Amos Gitaï looks back on this traumatic event from a fresh perspective. Putting the assassination back in its political and social context, the filmmaker combines fictitious reconstructions and archive photos to offer us a real political thriller.

The screening will be followed by an encounter with the Director, conducted by Serge Toubiana, former Director of la Cinémathèque française.
