Beethoven Around The World

On the occasion of Beethoven year, the Quatuor Ébène has decided to meet quite a challenge: to perform the composer’s complete string quartets in 18 countries throughout the world. More than a tour, the Beethoven Around the World project is about transcending geographic and cultural borders. It aims to share Beethoven’s music with a wide range of audiences, in a spirit of humanism in keeping with the composer’s beliefs. The idea of the musical journey came about in 2014, after a concert given at New York’s Carnegie Hall, and will include a live recording of the complete works and a documentary. The most well-known of French quartets is making a stopover at BOZAR, where it will perform one of the German master’s first, and one of his last quartets.
