‘PREMIERE: N: The Madness of Reason - Peter Krüger’

4 Mar.'15
- 00:00

In the presence of Peter Krüger, Ben Okri & Walter Hus

Following the eccentric personality of French musician Raymond Borremans (1906-1988), the film evokes the confrontation between his restless mind and the West-African continent. In the mid nineteen-hundreds Borremans left Europe for Africa to compile the very first encyclopaedia of this exotic world, and achieve everlasting fame. However, the man died having arrived only at the letter ‘N’. His life’s work unfinished, his restless mind  wanders across West-Africa, caught between life and death, between past and present. An African woman who saves restless minds, tries to lead him to his destiny, revealing the reason and madness behind Borremans’ monumental project step by step.
Nigerian writer Ben Okri wrote the texts for N - The Madness of Reason. The music, which also plays a substantial role, was written by Walter Hus. He composed music for the automatic instruments of his Decap organs. For the vocals he worked with well-known African singer Fatoumata Diawara, who currently creates a furore on international concert stages.

Before the movie, at 7pm, Ben Okri will talk about his literary work with Catherine Vuylsteke. A signing session will follow the discussion.
