‘PREMIERE : La Terre Abandonnée - Gilles Laurent’

The respected sound engineer Gilles Laurent saw his first feature film as a reflection on the post-Fukushima period, honing his lens on a man who refused to be evacuated so he could look after the abandoned animals in the fall-out zone.

Gilles Laurent lost his life in the 22nd March attacks at Maelbeek. His film remains, magnificent in its depiction of Fukushima. The filmmaker’s attention was unwaveringly in focussing solely on life.
