SYNOPSIS GIRL:
Girl is the first feature film by Belgian director Lukas Dhont – an exploration of gender through the character of Lara, 15 years old, a young girl born in a boy's body, who dreams of becoming a star dancer.
The EU's Creative Europe MEDIA programme plays a crucial role in supporting Europe's audiovisual sector. It provides funding for the development, promotion and distribution of European works within Europe and beyond, and invests in training programmes, film festivals, cinema networks and distribution platforms. Since 1991, the EU has invested over €2.5 billion in European content, creativity and cultural diversity, helping European talents to work together across borders. Each year MEDIA supports around 2000 projects, including films, documentaries, TV series, video games, training programmes, cinemas and much more.
