Johann Sebastian Bach was born, 331 years ago to the day, in Eisenach, a small town in Thuringia in Germany, as one of the numerous members of a true musical dynasty. Almost all family members were active in classical music. The French harpsichordist, fortepianist, and conductor Pierre Hantaï has been passionate about Bach's music ever since he was a child. Which makes him a logical choice for this celebration of the great master's birthday.
