Open Studio
The Performances Beyond Two Shores project brings together young, emerging artists who recently settled in Europe. The artists come from various artistic backgrounds and meet each other at the locations of the different partners where, in the course of one week, they exchange ideas and art practices to challenge their own process.
From November 12 till 16, they will be working at BOZAR on a programme that explores the question of the body and its relationship to the local context, its actual representations and its temporalities.
The meeting at BOZAR will be a melting pot of spoken word, dance and play reading, crossing the boundaries between art disciplines. Guests will be invited to explore questions of displacement, belonging and becoming. The programme is mentored by dramaturge Nedjma Hadj Benchelabi.
On Saturday November 16, the artists will present their work in process to the Brussels audience during an open studio.
The participating artists are Hamdi Dridi (Tunis/Montpellier), Hilda Moucharrafieh (Beirut/Amsterdam), Nidal Abdo (Damascus/Paris), Samira Saleh (Mechelen), Tamara Saade (Beirut/Paris) and Yazan Iwidat (Ramallah/Brussels).
