Oscar Niemeyer, un architecte engagé dans le siècle – Marc-Henri Wajnberg
(BE, 2011, 60’, OV sub FR)
This film pays homage to Oscar Niemeyer, the most prolific architect of the 20th century and one of the creators of Brasilia. It presents the vision of an artist whose belief in the socialist ideal remained steadfast until his death. The story of a demanding, uncompromising man who loved women, who lived in exile in France during Brazil's military dictatorship and who fought for his country throughout his life. Made in 2000, the film presents the 92-year-old Oscar Niemeyer as he reflects not only on Brazil but also on France, Kubitschek, Le Corbusier, Fidel Castro, Malraux and more. He speaks of a life dedicated to architecture in a century marked by upheavals, in terms of political ideologies as well as artistic movements.

Niemeyer 4 ever – Nicolas Khoury
(LB, 2018, 30’, OV (AR/FR) sub EN)
Niemeyer 4 Ever paints a poignant portrait of the Tripoli International Fair, a "ghost" town with constructions covering 10,000 square metres on a one million-square metre site, and which bears silent witness to a project that was never completed. This "fair", designed by Oscar Niemeyer in the 1960s, an icon of modern engineering and builder of Brasilia, is a strange, at times disquieting site haunted by painful memories.
