60th anniversary concert

The Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie is celebrating its sixtieth birthday! It’s a fabulous milestone for an ensemble that has collaborated with some of the world’s leading artists including José van Dam and Mstsislaw Rostropovitch. Augustin Dumay and Jean-Pierre Wallez, the orchestra’s former musical directors, will join Frank Braley, the current incumbent, and Jean-Paul Dessy, the director of Musiques Nouvelles, as the ensemble’s conductor. The programme includes several works from the great orchestral repertoire, including Beethoven’s Romance No. 2 for Violin and Orchestra, Ravel’s Tzigane and the first performance of Jean-Paul Dessy’s Piano Concerto.
