‘Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège’

7 Jan.'16
- 20:00

A New World beginning to the New Year, opening with Gershwin's An American in Paris (1928), a US tourist's musical promenade through the French capital. Ravel's Piano Concerto in G (1931), although a neoclassical masterpiece, is suffused with the spirit of American jazz. The concert concludes with City Noir by John Adams, an outstanding work premiered by Gustavo Dudamel in 2009 and inspired by 1920s jazz.
