‘Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège’

22 Sept.'17
- 20:00

The re-emergence of a monumental instrument, the organ in the Henry Le Bœuf Hall, means a repertoire requiring a concert hall organ can now be performed. Dedicated to Franz Liszt, Camille Saint-Saëns' Symphony N° 3 (Organ Symphony) is an obvious example. Here it is finally performed in the perfect setting of the BOZAR concert hall by the organist Eric Mairlot and the Liège Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Christian Arming. The orchestra will also be performing two contemporary symphonic masterpieces: César Franck's symphonic poem Le Chasseur maudit (The Accursed Hunter) and the Fantasy Overture Romeo and Juliette, one of the most moving works by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.
