Speculative Futures

This exhibition presents three installations by contemporary artists, focusing on space exploration and terraforming.
Ivan Henriques has developed a new "bio-drone" that stimulates atmospheric formation on other planets. In collaboration with the X-Lab of Hasselt University, artist Frederik De Wilde created a sculpture that reflects on interstellar space travel in the anthropocene. The "Space Farming Project" from the collective SEAD (in collaboration with Angelo Vermeulen) looks ahead to the future of humans in an interstellar context. In collaboration with a team of experts associated with Howest, the artist developed several experiments and prototypes that further investigate the cultivation of plants in space.

"Orbit Space" is a multi-year project realized by Gluon with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Flemish Government
