Beethoven, Symphony No. 3 (“Eroica”)
Join us for the opening concert of the newly founded international chamber orchestra, the Brussels Chamber Ensemble (BCE). For this very special evening BCE will perform a programme in two parts: the evening starts with romantic dances by three different composers – Skalkottas, Kuula and Röntgen – and ends after an interval with the monumental Eroica, Beethoven’s 3rd symphony, the symphony that set off the Romantic era in music. The programme is truly European, with rhythms from corners of Europe as far apart as Greece, Finland and the Netherlands. BCE consists of professional musicians and high-level amateurs, all enjoined by their love for music-making.
