‘What I wanted to do was create something totally improvised’, says Cuban-born composer, bandleader and jazz pianist Omar Sosa. Transparent Water is the latest expression of Omar’s transcendent determination never to play the same thing twice. Together with the Senegalese kora master and singer Seckou Keita, he will play a great deal of improvisatory freedom at BOZAR wherein musical destination is secondary to the extemporaneous joy or shared artistic passage. The native Venezuelan multi-percussionist Gustavo Ovalles brings the polyrhythmic spirit of the African Diaspora to the concert. An aquatic and cristallized encounter between yoruba mysticism, sweet mandingue and zen from the Far East.
