In the context of Visual Voices
Ai Suzuki, who has been living and working in Europe for several decades now, is one of Brussels’ most original Japanese artists. Mainly known for her collaboration with her partner, the filmmaker Pascal Baes, over the years she has developed an unclassifiable style of her own, the origins of which can be found in street theatre and butoh dance. Alongside the musician Jacques Foschia (radio waves) and the video-maker Yacine Sebti, she brings us a performance that has been specially created for Visual Voices and its young audience. Children can also enjoy a documentary about gestural variations amongst the different cultures of the world, by Belgian filmmaker Henri Storck, and two crazy animations by the Japanese director Yoji Kuri.
