Big Bang Festival 2018

From 5 years old

Dick van der Harst (NL) is a composer, musician and arranger. His music is a unique mixture of a little bit of everything. He digs up styles and sounds and kneads them into new ones, flirts with jazz and folk music, dips everything in a coating of contemporary classical music and then serves up a delicious Van der Harst Original: authentic music from the heart, with a deeply human feel.
For Big BANG, Van der Harst is behind the wheel of a new project with the Ledebirds from Ghent. The Ledebirds have members of all ages and roots all over the world, but all of them have their heart in the Ledeberg neighbourhood in Ghent. It’s a project right up Van der Harst’s street. Together they explore unfamiliar musical treasures from far away and close to home, and serve up their sizzling spectacle at the BIG BANG Festival. In Brussels, Van der Harst and the Ledebirds get to work with children from local schools.
