Nobel Prize Dialogue Brussels: Fact & Fiction - The Future of Democracy
How do we make democracies work for the greatest benefit to humanity? In a big election year, including the European elections in June 2024, join the Nobel Prize Dialogue – the first ever in Brussels. This evening event will bring together a constellation of Nobel Prize laureates, thought leaders, policy-makers, as well as researchers at the forefront of knowledge to discuss the most pressing issue of our time. Themes such as the power of narratives in democracies, fact-based worldviews, AI and other technologies will take centre stage.
Speakers include several Nobel Prize winners - Ben Feringa (chemistry, 2016), Sir Paul Nurse (medicine, 2001), and Maria Ressa (peace, 2021) and Oleksandra Matviichuk, representing the Ukrainian Center for Civil Liberties (peace, 2022) - as well as other experts such as Demis Hassabis, CEO and co-founder of Google DeepMind, and Michael Bruter, Emilie Caspar and Stefania Milan, recipients of a European Research Centre (ERC) grant, accompanied by European Commission Vice-President Věra Jourová
The Nobel Prize Dialogue, held worldwide, is a forum for scientists and non-scientists alike to deepen the dialogue between the scientific community and the rest of society. Nobel Prize Dialogue Brussels 2024 is organized by Nobel Prize Outreach in partnership with the European Research Council (ERC).
Nobel Prize Dialogue Brussels (The event) is photographed and filmed, and all of this material may be publicly published during and after the event.
