Even the word ‘virtuoso’ fails to do justice to Nir Felder’s guitar playing. There’s nothing this highly talented American musician can’t do with his guitar. During his time at Berklee College of Music, Felder won the award named after Jimi Hendrix, while the American public broadcaster PBS recently named him ‘The Next Big Jazz Guitarist’. These are excellent calling cards. In common with all great performers, Felder is constantly innovating, consistently pushing back the boundaries of genres. His tunes are just as at home with (indie) rock, hip-hop and pop, as they are with jazz. A few years back, the jazz guitarist and composer released Golden Age, his first album as a band leader, and earned unanimous praise from the media. He is now working on a second album and we can’t wait to hear it.
