Afropolitan fashion, design and lifestyle are constantly inspiring the world. The Afropolitan Festival again joins forces with its partner of choice, New African Wave (NAW), to offer a fashion pop-up full of discoveries and sensations. Curated by Siré Kaba, creator of the ethical clothing brand Erratum Fashion and director of New African Wave (NAW), a dozen Afro-Belgian and other talents will take you on a three-day journey into their worlds of fusion and encounters.
It is a real journey for the five senses: fashion accessories, contemporary Berber- and Afrofuturist-inspired jewellery, a brand of memory shirts evoking the past and the present ... But also black girl magic illustrations, home decor objects and tasting sessions with a chocolate or spicy flavour for the most adventurous visitors...
These are just a few examples of the exceptional products you will discover over the three days. Come and learn the new Afropolitan way, whether it's fashion, design or food and lifestyle! You will find: Berberism, Inconnu, Dorcas Creates, Galago, Anaid Moh, Banx Couture, Yaas, KariKemité, Les piments de Fati, Librairie Ici Sont Les Lions and Erratum Fashion.
Siré Kaba presents a Fashion Performance on 28 May after the screening of the film The Ones Who Keep Walking.
On 29 May, NAW is also offering two children's workshops as part of the festival:
- tote bag customisation workshop on the theme of women's power (suitable for ages 4 plus).
- weaving workshop (for ages 8 plus).
