La Paura
Lorenzo Gatto, a great favourite with local audiences, is the soloist in the Glass violin concertos, in which the soloist at times soars above the orchestra and at times merges with it. The programme also features music Schoenberg wrote for an imaginary film, as well as Bernstein’s Second Symphony, inspired by WH Auden’s poem The Age of Anxiety.
