‘The Music of the Avant-Garde’

29 Sept.'16 →
22 Jan.'17

Visiting an exhibition is an enriching experience, and all the more so when it’s accompanied by music! To tie in with the The Power of The Avant-Garde exhibition, during the Thursday late night openings BOZAR is organising a series of concerts which concentrate on avant-garde music. This is a unique opportunity to spend 50 minutes immersed in the musical universe of the works on display. Works by Marlene Dumas, Marcel Duchamp and Fernand Léger will be given a musical accompaniment by composers such as Arnold Schönberg, Luciano Berio and Richard Strauss, whose works will be enthusiastically interpreted by young prodigies from the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel. Avant-garde is also about jazz, and we are delighted to be welcoming the highly experimental Antwerp saxophonist, Joachim Badenhorst.
