“When I began working on my short “Sister Oyo”, I was confronted with the taboo of colonial imagery. I had heard it said so often that I was the only one to have ever made a fiction about this period, that it got me interested. So I decided to explore this undiscovered territory: contemporary Belgian films with a colonial theme”.
