‘Mohsen Namjoo & Ensemble’

Presented by the New York Times as "the Iranian Bob Dylan", Mohsen Namjoo performs poignant songs that go straight to the soul. Through his sometimes corrosive songs, this U.S.-based singer-songwriter gives a voice to Iranian youth and sheds light on an age-old tradition, blending the techniques of classical and popular Iranian song with the saturated sounds of blues and rock. At Bozar, Namjoo presents his latest opus released in August, Odd Time Rock: an album combining the sound of the setar with a rock instrumentarium, coloured with blues guitar and synthetic orchestral sounds.
