Exactly one year after Ryuichi Sakamoto's death, Mika Oki looks through the great master's catalogue and presents an interpretation of his work.
Sakamoto left an undeniable legacy to electronic music. From the 1970s onwards, the Japanese musician's compositions influenced a variety of genres, from techno to hip-hop. He managed to combine his training in classical music with his passion for synthesizers and world music.
Oki has a unique background in sculpture and electroacoustic music. The Franco-Japanese artist uses voice samples, musical fragments and images to create an audiovisual installation. At Bozar's request, she has sculpted a deeply personal tribute in which Sakamoto's voice resonates.
Your ticket for this concert also gives you free access to the Nocturne Surrealism taking place at Bozar the same evening.
