Melanie De Biasio presents a world premiere, returning to her roots. Her new project took the Belgian-Italian singer to a small Italian village on a mountainside. It was here that she composed her fourth album, Il Viaggio, which focuses on electronics and ambient music, recording what she calls the ‘textures’ she encountered during her solitary walks: the wind blowing, streams flowing, birds singing, dogs barking and bells ringing. The set features everything that makes her a unique artist: a phrasing that savours each word like a rare fruit, a timbre with a hint of sensuality, and above all this ability to give time and space a fullness that resists the frenzy of an era saturated with interference.
