With The Dawn of Everything: A New History of Humanity, David Wengrow and David Graeber challenge the history of humanity as we know it today and provide a radical response to the long tradition from Jean-Jacques Rousseau to Yuval Noah Harari. In The Dawn of Everything, the statement that civilisation arose with the developmentof agriculture is completely underminded. David Wengrow will come to Bozar without David Graeber, who died shortly after the completion of this monumental book. He will talk about his work, humanity and a hopeful future.
David Wengrow (born 1972) is a British archaeologist and Professor of Comparative Archaeology at the Institute of Archaeology, University College London. He has written essays on topics such as social inequality and climate change for The Guardian and The New York Times.
