A+ Architecture in Belgium and Bozar welcome Dorte Mandrup and Klaas Goris for a lecture. The two architects will present a selection of projects.
Dorte Mandrup, a Danish architect, founded her office in 1999. Her designs are mainly cultural and educational in nature. The Scandinavian office designs architecture with responsibility for people and nature. With an artistic approach, they create exceptional architecture that forms the basis of their acclaimed oeuvre. Among other works, Dorte Mandrup will present her project 'The Whale', a whale observation center in Andenes, Norway. This exceptional structure integrates the light from the far North and creates a unique experience.
Klaas Goris, a Belgian architect, is co-founder of the Ghent firm Coussée Goris Huyghe architects. Their work focuses on centuries-old building traditions. The authentic architecture they present shows an eye for detail while art and poetry are inseparable from their work. An example of this is the Hofheide Crematorium, built in Holsbeek, Belgium. This memorial stands out for its meticulous use of light, creating spaces that combine serenity and reflection.
After the presentations, both agencies will discuss their approach about How light shapes space.
