The Digital Moving Image Salon (DMIS), which was founded at Spelman in 2003 by Ayoka Chenzira, Ph.D., is an award-winning program that provides an academic framework for teaching students to analyze and critique films and to use digital media tools to produce documentary films that focus on the lived experiences of women of color.
