What is the role of the showrunner?

How to write an international Tv series? What is the role of the showrunner? How do writer’s rooms work in the USA? Chris Brancato will reveal some exclusive insights from his long experience of the American TV series industry.

Chris Brancato has written or produced over 200 hours of television, including such series as X-Files, Law and Order: Criminal Intent, Hannibal, and the Netflix series Narcos.  In addition, Chris wrote and co-produced MGM's popular gangster feature Hoodlum, starring Lawrence Fishburne, the sci-fi thriller Species II and executive produced the comedy feature Stealing Harvard. He was an Executive Producer on Hannibal during its much-heralded first two seasons.  Chris recently co-created and was the showrunner of Narcos, the story of U.S. and Colombian efforts to catch and kill cocaine kingpin Pablo Escobar.  Currently, he's developing #cartel for History, the story of El Chapo in the age of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
