Marlène Dorcéna, a Haitian singer living in Belgium, leads us into her own musical world with her warm, vibrant personality and her melancholy tunes. The artist draws her lyrics and melodies from her own experience as a woman, artist and citizen of the world, but also from the history and poetic culture of Haiti. She presents her new project mixing Creole and French repertoire with jazz, gospel and African influences. Her arrangements, steeped in multiple influences, reflect the diversity of the musicians who accompany her on stage. For this concert, she joins her voice to the bewitching sound of the soprano saxophone of Pierre Vaiana, a Belgian musician and winner of the prestigious ‘DjangodOr Musicien confirmé’ award in 2009.
