‘Maki Namekawa’

Philip Glass’ favourite pianist Maki Namekawa from Japan will perform his iconic Etudes for Piano in their entirety. Namekawa has a unique affinity with Glass’ work, recording all of his preludes in 2014. She will take you on a journey of repeating patterns, ranging from dark tension (Etude No. 14) to virtuoso elegance (No. 15) and melancholy beauty (No. 20), with each piece revealing a new world of sound.
