Broidery, bourdons, brightness... BOZAR is set to create an authentically Baroque setting. The organist Lorenzo Ghielmi is giving priority to five composers who mainly hail from Northern Germany and share the same initial surname letter. A native of Schwabstedt to the north of Hamburg, Nicolaus Bruhns enjoyed the support of Buxtehude, an authentic authority on composition and the organ. The less well known Arnold Brunckhorst apparently never published anything during his life, although he was a highly regarded instrumentalist. Georg Böhm, an organist from Lüneburg, is said to have made his mark on the choral work of the distinguished young Johan Sebastian Bach.
