In the presence of Maurice Born

In this trenchant film shot in 1973 between the Island of Spinalonga off the coast of Crete and Athens, Jean-Daniel Pollet and Maurice Born recount the story of the confinement of Greek lepers. But, above all, it is the story of the ‘healthy’ society which excluded them. Followed by a conversation with Maurice Born, co-director of L’Ordre.

On the occasion of the publication of the book Vies et morts d’un Crétois lépreux, a collection of memories (translated and presented by Born) of Epaminondas Remoundakis, spokesman of the lepers and emblematic figure in the film.
