This comic strip Paul Panda Farnana, une vie oubliée/Paul Panda Farnana, een vergeten leven highlights the story of a remarkable man, one of the first Congolese who studied in Belgium and an ardent activist for the rights of his people. On the occasion of this album’s launch, two authors of the organization BD Kin Label will sign autographs and sketch visitors at the Africalia stand.

In keeping with its desire to promote African literature, Cooperation through Education and Culture (CEC) invites you to a uniquely audio discovery of major texts. In a relaxed atmosphere - as you settle down into comfortable seats and the room is plunged into darkness - which favours the nature of the experience, you will listen to audio recordings of literary masterpieces written by three generations of authors (like Soni Labou Tansi, Jean Bofane and Fiston Mwanza) and read out by talented actors.

Écarlate la Compagnie is putting on AUTRICES, a reading-performance by Elsa Poisot and Line Guellati based on a work by Léonora Miano and accompanied by a unique sound universe created for the occasion by Joachim Glaude. Léonora Miano was born in 1973 in Douala in Cameroon. She has been living in France since 1991. Écrits pour la parole is one work which uses virtuosity and sensitivity to describe the often conflictual and painful relationship that Afropeans have with issues of dual cultures and integration.

‘We were never meant to survive’, wrote Audre Lorde. Our voices were silenced, our bodies slayed, our histories erased. But our litanies for survival remain. Warrior Poets dedicates this evening to the continuum of our resistances and the fears we have outlived.
Poetry and performances by Obi Okigbo, daughter of the influential Nigerian poet Christopher Okigbo; Jean Bofane, Minna Salami, Nganji Laeh, Lisette Lombé, Sec Koe and Shishani.
