Place: Tour & Taxi, European Development Days 2015

By 2050, 80% of the population will be living in cities. With this in mind, BOZAR, in collaboration with UN-Habitat, is presenting the documentary The Human Scale by the Danish architect Jan Gehl, who met with thinkers, architects and town planners from across the globe. Gehl, who has spent the past four decades studying human behaviour in cities , argues that we have to construct cities which take the individual’s need for inclusion and intimacy into account. For its latest participation in the European Development Days, BOZAR reminds us of the centrality of the human element in town planning development projects. The screening of The Human Scale will be followed by a discussion with Riccardo Andrea Marini, director of Gehl Architects and Aadel Essadani, director of the cultural platform Racines (Rabat). Website
