A+ and BOZAR are glad to welcome David Chipperfield for a conference in the Henry Le Boeuf Hall.

David Chipperfield is one of the most prolific British architects of his generation. In 1985, he founded his own firm in London, David Chipperfield Architects, before opening offices in Berlin, Shanghai and Milan. He has acquired international renown thanks to his public and cultural buildings in Europe and the United States, such as the River & Rowing Museum in England (1997), and the renovation of the Neues Museum in Berlin (2009).

The British architect pays particular attention to the historical context of buildings, which he believes opens up a world of possibilities. His sober and symbolic architecture oscillates between innovation and preservation.

Chipperfield has taught in a variety of institutions throughout the world and has won over a hundred international awards. He was the first British architect to serve as curator of the Venice Architecture Biennale (2012).
