‘Lea Desandre & Jupiter Ensemble’

As the portrait artist of the ’25-’26 season, Lea Desandre will be a member of the Bozar family. With French finesse, she gives us an intimate glimpse of 17th century English music, where melancholy meets passion. The subdued emotions of Dowland’s Lute Songs (including Come Again, Go Crystal Tears and others) flow smoothly into Purcell’s poignant arias, including the legendary When I am Laid in Earth from Dido and Aeneas. With Ensemble Jupiter, led by her partner, the lute player Thomas Dunford, Desandre brings this timeless music to life, demonstrating precisely why her international career seems to be so flawless.
