The year 2024 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Surrealism.
In 1924, André Breton published the Manifesto of Surrealism, initiating an artistic and philosophical movement that would have a lasting impact on the 20th century.
In the same year, Paul Nougé initiated the publication of the Correspondance tracts in Belgium, already distancing himself from the Parisian group. Various events will celebrate the centenary of Surrealism, including a major exhibition devoted to Surrealism in Belgium at the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels. Its curator, Xavier Canonne, will present a lecture on this exhibition.
