‘La Protesta’

6 Mar.'19
- 20:30

The first day of the Bruselas Flamenco Festival focuses on the social activism of flamenco, with a tribute to three poets: Miguel Hernández, Rafael Alberti and Francisco Moreno Galván. These three cultural icons, spanning two generations, embody the fight against fascism and Franco’s dictatorship. Rocío Márquez, Juan Pinilla and Ana Ramírez ‘La Yiya’ (vocals), Manuel Herrera (guitar) and David Pérez (dance) bring their rebellious voices and poetry back to life with a contemporary twist. Did you know, by the way, that Francisco Moreno Galván was also a versatile artist who designed some stunning flamenco posters? You can see his creations, part of the permanent collection of the Contemporary Art Museum in La Puebla de Cazalla, at the Centre for Fine Arts during the Bruselas Flamenco Festival.
