KultuurKaffee

‘Kenji Minogue (BE)’

25 Sept.'15
- 21:00

BANG! Opening Night

Whether you want to call them the West-Flemish nieces of Die Antwoord or the Lady Gaga’s of the prairie, with their flashy mix of electro, weird dance moves and seemingly nonsensical lyrics, Kenji Minogue have succeeded to become the ultimate Belgian trash pop sensation.

With YouTube hits, such as ‘Naam familienaam’ and ‘Danny’, frontwomen, Conny Komen and Fanny Willen, had already secured their breakthrough before their debut album De Groetjes (2014) had even been released.

Epic appearances at Pukkelpop, the Gentse Feesten (Ghent Festival) and the Ancienne Belgique met with rapturous success. Even David Lynch’s Paris Club, Silencio, already witnessed their futuristic, absurd hedonistic shows that baffle all human imagination.

Dangling somewhere between highbrow fashion and loutish entertainment, but never anything less than terribly amusing. This lively festival opener is set to be one hell of a badass night at Bozar. That’s a promise!

BANG! Imaginative City Festival curated by Saskia De Coster

This event is part of the imaginative city festival BANG! Curated by Saskia De Coster. Due to the construction work currently being undertaken, KultuurKaffee has opted for a nomadic existence and, together with a guest curator, assembles twice a year a multidisciplinary programme of events at various locations dotted around the city of Brussels. Autumn 2015 sees author Saskia De Coster welcoming her festival guests at Bozar.
