Bozar Next Generation

Organist Karol Mossakowski (Poland, 1990) has conquered the world with his daring interpretations and improvisations to accompany silent films. His started playing his father’s organ and piano at the age of three. Later, he studied in Poland and Paris under Olivier Latry, Michel Bouvard, Lászlo Fassang, Philippe Lefebvre and others. It was obviously time well spent: the many prizes he has won include the International Prague Spring Competition and the Grand Prix de Chartres (2016). In 2014-15, Mossakowski was Young Artist in Residence at the Cathedral of St. Louis King of France in New Orleans (USA). He is currently the organist at Rijsel Cathedral and teaches organ improvisation at the Hector Berlioz Conservatoire in Paris. Come and hear this improvisational talent on Sunday afternoon at the Centre for Fine Arts.
