‘Justin Taylor - « Des sautereaux aux petits marteaux »’

The young French musician Justin Taylor ran away with all the awards at the International Musica Antiqua Competition for harpsichord in 2015. It may be something of a surprise that he is equally at home on the pianoforte. He has devised a programme for BOZAR – “From the Jack to the Hammer” –  in which he shows how, in the 18th century, the long-established harpsichord slowly but surely made way for the pianoforte, an instrument which, in its day, was technically superior and more sonorous, and therefore much more interesting to composers.
