The sophisticated training schedule of Julie, a promising 15-year-old tennis player at an elite academy, is unexpectedly thrown upside down after her regular coach is suspended. The reason: allegations about his relationship with a former player who recently committed suicide. An investigation is opened and all players are encouraged to share their experiences. The taciturn Julie, however, wants to focus solely on her game, but how long will she keep it up?
With his feature debut, Leonardo van Dijl delivers a balanced but fascinating drama and is rightly Belgium's entry for the Oscars this year.
Leonardo van Dijl is a screenwriter and director from Belgium. He has directed the short films Get Ripped (2014), Umpire (2015), and Stephanie (2020). Julie Keeps Quiet (24) is his feature film debut.
