Four violas da gamba and two dancers blend into Bach's polyphony. The word "counterpoint" simply refers to a musical technique that consists of superimposing musical lines. In Kunst der Fuge, Romina Lischka and the Hathor Consort distribute the different voices of Bach's piano masterpiece to several melodic instruments. Polyphony thus becomes the theatre of a dialogue between individuals. Each instrument, with its own timbre and register, played by a different performer, embodies a part of the whole and enriches it by its singularity. Finally, the dancers, through their movements, allow us to see and feel in our own body, the music of Bach.
